Kenny Helfer: Principal and Founder

With over 15 years of experience in corporate development, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Corporate Venturing, Kenny Helfer formed Erbeca Management Consulting with the goal of applying the large enterprise skills he acquired during his long career to both large and small companies and early stage ventures.

As Chief Operating Officer and President of IDT’s Venture Capital Division, Kenny was responsible for deal sourcing, integration, operations and strategy development. Sector focus includes Telecommunications, Voice-Over-IP, Consumer Internet Services, Mobile Applications, Entertainment, "Next Gen" Digital Media, Sports, Green Technology, Financial Services, and Hispanic Business Initiatives.

Transactions include Hopstop.com, the most used online and mobile transit consumer application, Logia Mobile in Israel, and Zedge.net in Norway, the largest mobile content community with over 15mm users. Additionally, Mr. Helfer was Vice President and head of Business Development and Acquisitions for IDT Entertainment. Kenny managed the integration of the company subsidiaries, including the development and implementation of distribution and sales channels. Mr. Helfer was also responsible for developing and executing the sales growth strategy for the TV, DVD, and feature film business. IDT Entertainment was later sold to Liberty Media for over $500mm.

Kenny also had a major role at IDT’s Winstar Communications. Mr. Helfer was Vice President of Corporate Sales and Head of IDT’s Turn-around Integration Team. Kenny was instrumental in the company’s go-to-market sales strategy and played and integral part in creating a Chapter Seven Bankruptcy Restructuring Plan.

Kenny’s tenure at IDT began with Net2phone, the pioneer for Voice-Over-IP. He was Head of Worldwide Telco Sales and Strategic Development. He created a $15 million VoIP Carrier Services Division of Net2Phone from inception while securing over 20 major VoIP telecom alliances around the world. Transactions include France Telecom, Belgacom, KPN Netherlands, Hong Kong Telecom and Deutsche Telecom. Based on the success of this business unit and other areas within Net2phone, the company was ultimately acquired by AT&T for $1.4 billion.

His experience at major enterprises also included Consider Inc, one of the largest metals trading firm in the United States and Europe. Kenny was instrumental in spearheading the firm’s market research to better assess global strategy and demand of base metal while balancing supply restraints to maximize revenues.

Kenny Helfer received his Bachelor of Arts from Yeshiva University, majoring in Economics and Speech, and received his MBA from Fordham University.
